| Frank McCaskill is a second generation Railroader beginning his Railroad career in 1979 as a Trainman on the former Family Lines System at Wilmington, NC. His mother, grandfather, and great uncle had Rail careers with the SCL and Norfolk Western Roads. After a short career as a Yard Conductor, Frank had an opportunity to change crafts and moved into the clerical force where he qualified on every yard and Agency position. Working Agent “vacation relief” for the next few years allowed him to travel throughout the south adding to his knowledge base and leading to a more permanent position as “Mobile Agent” headquartered at Rocky Mount, NC. Shortly thereafter he was promoted to “Assistant Terminal Trainmaster” at the Rocky Mount Terminal. As CSX implemented their centralization strategy Frank relocated to CSX’s Centralized Customer Service Center in Jacksonville and added “Waybill Clerk” to his Resume. Taking advantage of his relocation he continued to add to his Rail expertise by working Yard Clerk, Tower Operator, Chief Pricing Analyst, and Yardmaster positions in the Jacksonville area. His promotion to “Manager Fleet Operations” where he completed his 25+ year career with CSX, allowed him to utilize his technology and negotiation skills. Frank was responsible for programming a multitude of equipment tracking reports, the design, creation, contracting, and implementation of several Private cleaning and repair facilities, as well as the distribution of CSX’s 10,000 car Grain and Fertilizer fleet.
